Apple Cider Vinegar & Honey Drink

Apple Cider Vinegar and honey drink.

I’m not going to lie. I thought it sounded disgusting.

But the claimed benefits are numerous: weight loss, regulating blood sugar, heart health and improving the immune system

So I thought I’d test it out.

The 7 Day Test

The claim: drinking apple cider vinegar and honey before bet puts you into a relaxed state where you have a higher quality of sleep. It is also claimed you wake up feeling more refreshed.

Here’s how I got on having the drink before bed for 7 days:

Day 1

Woke up on time. Didn’t snooze once. Straight out of bed and got cracking. Wouldn’t say i necessarily felt really awake. But the fact I got up straight away is good supporting evidence

Day 2

Woke up on time. Turned the alarm clock off and immediately got back into bed. So tired. After 2 mins I got out of bed and staggered downstairs. Felt very tired today.

Day 3

Overslept by half an hour. Fuck you apple cider vinegar. I blame you entirely.

From this point onwards I stopped keeping a log of how I felt about the drink in the morning.

What I did notice was that I found it quite relaxing in the evening.

It became a ritual: boil the kettle, make the drink and sit outside. Drinking a hot drink outside at night is quite relaxing. It’s a nice way to end the day.

This is probably not long enough to get conclusive evidence though.

But do I think drinking vinegar is going to suddenly give you a big boost in energy?

No.

Do I think setting aside time in an evening to relax helps you sleep?

Yeah, probably.

In summary: drink what you want, when you want.
